When you navigate below you see a Chinese post. The Bizznis framework doesn’t allow to show the post content in Chinese in the excerpt.

What can I do about this?

Theme shouldn’t prevent any language from being posted. Are you using a translation plugin for this? If not, then you’ll need to describe the problem further, since there shouldn’t be any problem with language settings.

Also, is the content written in other languages as well? What language does the excerpt show in?

See here: http://weydelandcheese.cn/news/. It doesn’t output the Chinese characters in the first post. It does in the second post, but that one starts with 2010.

I am not using a translation plugin. It’s just Chinese characters within the post editor. The excerpt is in Chinese.

The content isn’t written in other languages as well.

Have you checked the database character set and made sure it’s UTF8? Also make sure you’ve used utf8 without BOM, when editing theme files.

If nothing of above fixes it, paste the full Chinese text that’s causing you issues and I’ll test it on my localhost.

DB character set is UTF8. It is without BOM.

The weird thing is that it shows up well on the normal pages and posts. It has to do with the excerpt or something.

I just have add this Chinese text to one of the posts:

Really strange. Have you tried displaying post content with characters limit instead of post excerpts?

I had the same settings like you said above. Display post content instead of post excerpts.

But, that didn’t work.

When I changed it to showing post excerpts it did work. See here: http://weydelandcheese.cn/news/

But now I don’t have the Read more button there?

Any idea what to do?

I would love to have just 200 characters in Chinese with the Read more button below it.

First post is showing well, other posts aren’t showing the characters. There needs to be something maybe IN the WordPress page?

I tried to compare the two pages, but all the same. Nothing wrong in there.
